_________________________________________
This year, we are flipping some of the Online Learning Conference. We invited speakers to put more resources online so that our time together in sessions can focus on learning by doing, problem solving, and connection making.
To accomplish this, we’ve created this Flipped Community site, which is comprised of a series of Peer-Learning Experiences for five weeks leading up to the conference, as well as Session Resources & Handouts for the breakouts and special sessions.
In addition, you can register for Dine Around dinners during the conference (coming soon!), and connect with other conference participants who you want to meet (virtually and/or in person). Please be sure to fill out the learning goals and matchmaking questions at the bottom of your profile (click "My Profile" above to update your profile)!
In this Flipped Community, you will experience what flipped learning can look and feel like. We have designed this site and the weekly Peer-Learning Experiences to engage you in learning that fosters:
- Collaboration
- Flexibility
- Openness
- Interactivity
- Intrinsic motivation
- Networking
The Flipped Community site allows you to begin learning with and from your peers NOW and AFTER the conference – not just during the conference in Denver.
Beginning September 1, you will receive one weekly Peer-Learning Experience via email on each of the five Tuesdays leading up to the conference. We hope that you will involve yourself in these shared learning activities so that your face-to-face conference time will be richer and more productive.
By participating in this Flipped community, you will:
- Be better prepared for the conference sessions.
- Already be connected to other conference participants – your co-learners.
- Experience examples of “flipped learning” approaches that you can apply in your own learning programs.
